About

Bio

Kevin Mosteller is a Composer, Sound Designer, and Music Producer based in Los Angeles, Ca. Kevin became captivated with music at an early age, and has been a multi-instrumentalist since childhood. As an angsty teen, Kevin began programming synthesizers, and performing as a guitarist in Industrial and Punk Rock groups throughout the late 2000's, most notably with the LA based satirical punk band, Mr. Blonde

Kevin was also a regular face on the LA Comedy scene, and an alumni of The Second City.

Kevin initially got his start in the industry as a screenwriter, but has always been an avid fan of film music, especially in the horror genre. When the opportunity came to dust off his synths and put them to use for a low-budget Thriller, he jumped at it. Kevin fell in love with the collaborative process of Film Scoring, and went back to school to study Composition for Film, Television and Games with Berklee School of Music's Online Program. He has been writing music to picture ever since, and has worked on television shows like Deadliest CatchJay Leno's Garage, and Chasing Flavors, and scored multiple films in the Horror genre.

Kevin's style draws from some pretty eclectic influences ranging from Sergei Prokofiev to Nine Inch Nails, and pretty much everything in between. He is a firm believer that a good film score should not only serve the story, but should also be a character in the film. While he excels at writing atmospheric synth-driven scores, he's also taken his experience in the Industrial genre and applied it to string and orchestral works, resulting in a unique hybrid sound.

Kevin records all of his music from his home studio in Los Angeles using a combination of modern and vintage equipment. In his spare time, Kevin collects old cult film soundtracks, and vintage instruments. He can usually be found haunting LA's record stores, revival houses, music boutiques and pawn shops on the hunt for new unique sounds he can incorporate into his library.
